New album plz

 

I have a feeling this is gonna be an album release show. Tickets are on sale in the morning, maybe they’ll announce the show while also announcing a new album out digitally next Friday with this small show the following day.

The opener posted about this show over the weekend and then removed it. A Facebook event was created by the venue but was removed earlier today. The ticket page is still up so I don’t think it was cancelled. Why take stuff down if it isn’t significant?

Maybe it’s just cancelled and I’m grasping

 

My guess is things were removed because it presumably hasn't been announced yet. Has this show been announced by the venue?

 

@MrAirplane what are the social media handles for the opener? I can't find the opener on Google.

 

They just updated all their social media accounts with that picture of them in the studio. You might be on to something @MrAirplane

At least something should be coming soon!

I guess the album theory was a stretch but I'll happily take this in the meantime.

Garden Amp has the show listed on their site. The opener is @ee_ella_, singer of the band Hot Rise. In the spring, Ella had an outdoor birthday show where Buck performed.

Both of these songs are lovely but I really like the chaotic sound of “Little Things”. Might need to do a discography run today.

 

Comments from James about both songs. Apparently Sparrow was their first take recording it.

Little Things:
“It’s in this sort of evolving free time signature where the beat is always changing, so Max and I were just flowing with it and guessing where the downbeats were — which gives the groove a really cool light feeling”

Sparrow:
“We all just scattered about the room without headphones, focused and in the music — you could feel that something special was happening. It was a funny instrumentation that had a really cool natural arrangement chemistry — Max on piano, Buck providing this dark ambience, me on floor tom and snare and Adrianne in the middle of it with the acoustic and singing.”

Oh man! Sparrow is good but Little Things is just something else!

Both songs are really good but Little Things is pretty immediately one of their best songs

 

Sparrow reminds me a lot of Breathe in My Lungs. I think they’re in the same key.
