I mean if that’s what they want to support then let them… sadly people don’t understand the consequences allegations can have on either party. There are rare circumstances where the allegations are untrue, and unfortunate… and then there arepeople wanting to believe their false idols are untouchable… why can’t we just you know, not be monsters?

The tour forum and the music forums are two separate worlds when it comes to this stuff. Historically, anyone expecting a degree of productive conversation about accountability here is just going to go on an endeavor of futility. Glad to know we're generally getting incrementally better here though.

    idk man

Elsewhere in Brooklyn (600/200 cap venue that draws acts like Turnstile, Against the Current, Citizen) just announced that vaccination cards are required for entry. At least that's a step in the right direction, whether they actually enforce it remains to be seen.

A few bars in Rochester have also said they’ll need proof of vax for entry. Hopefully these are the first dominoes to fall.

Funny enough, the pride party at Photo City in Rochester a couple weeks ago is what caused brreakthrough infections in my friends and I. Six out of the eight that went ended up testing positive after the event, and it was vaxx only.

Not just Chorus, no matter what people will always support bands like Brand New, ADTR, PTV and a huge etcetera, you can see that in the Midwest Emoposting group on Facebook. I would say people in here are actually the less suportive of those bands tbh.

Now that my tweet is blowing up I feel like now more than ever we need education of vaccines and protocols for people now going for shows. Before the concert, I tested negative for covid and after the show around 3 days after I started to feel sick, I got tested and boom, I was positive for covid. The vaccine doesn’t make you immune to it, it just makes it so that the whole process doesn’t kill you. My symptoms are very minimal right now because I followed safety protocols, but there is always a risk now when you go to shows. So go to shows with precaution.

As for how I’m doing, right now all I have is a cough, trouble breathing and a sore throat. Very minimal stuff but I am doing everything I can at home to stay safe. My life has been wild recently, just got out of a pretty deep relationship, got covid and just today found out a friend passed away, some people on twitter have been angry at me for catching covid, I’ll never understand that app sometimes. Anyways stay safe out there, get vaccinated and I love y’all

Mayor DeBlasio just announced the "Key to NYC Pass" initiative for NYC. Proof of vaccination required for indoor dining, gyms, and indoor entertainment and performances. It launches Aug 16th and starts getting enforced on Sept 13 (not really understanding the differences between the two dates).

So yeah, looks like vaccine required for indoor concerts in NYC now! I was going to AVA with an anti vaxxer, can't wait to hear his whining about this.

  16. I’m very interested to know how many people will get turned away at the door for venues that start requiring proof of vaccination.

If you do go just go as a precaution, get tested, wear a mask, please be safe

  20. Has anyone been dealing with guilt re: high-risk individuals?

There are a million reasons why live entertainment needed to return and a million more reasons why, even in the middle of Delta's rise, we're talking about vax/test/mask policies instead of cancellations. But every time I think about the people whom New Normal will force into varying degrees of permanent detachment from society & culture, I just feel awful for being excited.

It's tricky. The cost/benefit scenario is that we're able to get a lot more people back to work and industries open but unfortunately there is a minority population who will have to be extra careful. I do feel for people with high risk who have gotten vaccinated if they can but they will unfortunately have to be extra cautious for the next few years. I recognize that may sound insensitive but as someone who has seen his city absolutely shattered by the industry shutdowns of last year, I really hope we can find a way to keep life moving with these new protocols in place.

I'm honestly trying to figure out the immediate bashing and guilty verdict people on this site have put on Josh from ADTR. I know a few women personally in my life who have been sexual assault victims so I take this very seriously. In both those situations, one immediately and one 5 years later, the guilty party was found guilty in court and sentenced.

In this case, to my understanding, nothing came from the accusations? Am I missing something?

I think what also bothers me is the same people who are in the "FUCK ADTR they fucking suck, rapist pigs" camp is that they still support the founder of this website who refuses to address allegations against his former obsession/favorite band Brand New's singer...so it seems while people want to go finger pointing it's more often that not a popularity contest on this website. And that's just sad.

Remember when it truly was about the victims? Listening to their stories, seeing what the outcome was in the court of law? but not just because you don't like that band? Sigh.
