I've always wanted to like Rebecca Hall, however I just don't seem to think she's a great actor. Hopefully this will be the one where she wins me over.

 

You guys, yesterday I watched Blood Red Sky on Netflix and it was wild. Terrorists, vampires and terrorist vampires. At first I thought it was kinda corny but by the end me and my roommates were like transfixed and invested. Not like the best movie of all time but entertaining and I always love a good brutal vampire movie. Vampires reminded me of the ones in 30 Days of Night which I also enjoyed.

 

I'd never seen any Purge movies, but I hated The Forever Purge. I hate how these movies try to be so on the nose without actually making a good point.

 

It's pretty on par with The First Purge in terms of messaging. Not a deep movie, surface-level commentary, but I think they're fun for having such silly concept and won't complain about a solid action-horror where I get to watch a bunch of white supremacists get wrecked.

This is a blind spot for me I feel like I should probably fix (along with Bad Taste)

 

The Hunt is a blast. While not a proper horror film, it is certainly horrific with awesome gore and the humor is pitch black. I am gonna go out on a limb and predict that this will be a cult film over time.

 

Think I'm gonna do a zombie triple feature tonight with Return of the Living Dead parts 2 and 3 and Fulci's Zombi.

 

Good lord Eden Lake is hard to watch

Doing a double feature tonight of Jennifer's Body and I Know What You Did Last Summer. There's no theme or reason for this. I just came across both while browsing and haven't seen either.

 

I wish I could see both for the first time again.
