This'll be another one I'm happy I only listened to Chinatown and SMTH. How Dare You Want More lives up to the hype.

while he didn't produce any tracks, he's credited on two tracks. Definitely a case of the writer looking at wikipedia without actually checking WHY he has writing credits haha

is it the same for you? Prestigious

"ends up nothing more than a puddle of basement sweat in Albany" feels like a dig directed at me personally

Haha, yep. Some half-assed internet research on that one.

Woof. This review reminds me why I've come to hate reading most music criticism. There's one part where the writer suggests that Jack is copying Pinegrove, which...I seriously, seriously doubt that. Note to music writers: you don't have to point out every passing similarity to another song you know and suggest that it "might be a ripoff."

I haven't listened yet, but I was really hoping that was fixed here on the full album.

I would be more OK with the volume being so low if the entire album was at least the SAME level. Track 1 and Track 3 just.... are different volumes, and its weird.

Yeah the review is absolutely terrible, lol.
I was floored by how harsh it was and had to share.
I also thought that Olivia part was wrong!

If you have a chance to listen in dolby atmos or spatial audio, the mix, in my opinion, is much more balanced.

I haven't liked Spatial Audio on a lot of songs - especially all my old pop punk favs (don't listen to Stacy's Mom in spatial. It's awful), but it really does uplift this by a ton.

kinda annoying that there is a better version only if you listen this specific way

I'm on board with this album. A little samey, but I think it's going to pair well with night drives.

2nd listen through - yeah, I love this. I also didn't overplay two of the singles, and avoided the others all together. Don't Go Dark is a great track, too.

I have noticed its been really hit or miss but I have been so intrigued by it that I have given almost every new song released a chance. I have also noticed that the mixes are being updated on a few songs that sounded bad at first. For example, someone fixed lady gaga's mixes after the initial mix was criticized.

has there been any additional clarity on who is actually mixing the spacial audio tracks? It's just weird that it seems like none of the artists or producers are working on them... right?

I think it depends on the release.

My (completely uneducated) guess is that Jack is involved here.

honestly seems like an algorithm. some songs were mixed in a way that certain elements were missing completely that I doubt a human would have done

that's my main guess as well, unfortunately, that the majority of the tracks were essentailly fed into a system and spit out with a whole new experience, magic!!!

I don’t even get the concept of spatial audio without having the necessary precise equipment and listening environment how would it even work the way it’s supposed to
