the first one just got added to bandcamp this year and came out in 2011.

 

Oh yeah, I've already listened to that one. I think I finally listened to it around the same time the documentary came out. It was awesome. I can only imagine how great this one will be. Apparently the rest of the band is on it as well.

Their Facebook post about their tour with Thrice says it will be their last tour in a while. Do you think this means hiatus or they're going to record a new album? Fingers crossed for new album here.

Super late: they were amazing last week in SF at the Thrice show. Jordan was super energetic, and their new guitarist seems really cool.

not a huge thrice fan so im glad i skipped the show given the brevity of the setlist.

 

Been listening to Somewhere a lot recently and I actually really like it now. I think they obviously got better in every way on the albums that followed but I still think there's a lot of great stuff on that album. I think "Such Small Hands" and "The Last Lost Continent" are the only songs on there that I don't think are great.

 

The Last Lost Continent is definitely a great song even though I don't really dig the record anymore.

TLLC is some days my favorite song by them. Definitely the best on the album. Feels like a precursor to (my other favorite) all our bruised bodies

 

I know this is going to sound dumb but keep in mind I didnt reeeeally start getting into music outside of what i heard on the radio and musical soundtracks until around 2012 or so, but TLLC was like the first song I heard that was longer than like 12 minutes long and it blew me away. I still kind of have that nostalgia feel to it to this day, so I have a soft spot for that song and parts of that album.

But honestly Wildlife and ROTH and massive improvements.

 

They've certainly gotten better as a band but nothing will top Somewhere At The Bottom for me. One of my favorites of all time.
