The criticism has nothing to do with the content of the blog and everything to do with the fact that it’s a white person co-opting AAVE to sound trendy. I’d argue that’s a valid thing to criticize.

 

I think it's a horrible idea for the predatory comments previously stated, but how is it ableist? I'm sure it's optional, so if you don't want to be bothered, or signaled as alone because of anxiety, you just wouldn't opt in. I don't think it's drawing attention to someone who has anxiety in anyway, so just curious about your thoughts on this (and to maybe make me think more critically if I'm being ignorant). I normally think of ableism as ostracizing and drawing attention to someone's disability, and I don't see how this does that.

Again I get why it's a bad idea in actuality, but I like the idea of people alone at concerts being able to make friends easier. I go to a lot of concerts alone and it sucks after a while, especially the in between parts where you're just waiting for the next band. I often try to small talk with others and have made some great friends for the night but I also have tried to spark up a convo and gotten that I'm bothering someone and immediately left them alone. I have an idea about the against Paul Klein and his crew, so in the context of coming from him, and women's safety at shows, it's a bad idea, but at the same time I appreciate the sentiment for people like myself who don't want to miss out on live music so just go alone and sometimes get bored of being alone.

I don't disagree. I think people should be able to go to movies, go out to eat and go to concerts alone without fear of judgement. No one should miss out an experience for themselves for fear of judgement at their lack of company, be it for whatever reason.

But providing an option to not be alone at a concert (if you want but can decline if you don't) hardly seemed like an attack or judgement on those that chose to remain on their own because they're more comfortable that way.

Another claim made in the document involves Kelly’s alleged sexual abuse of a boy he met at a McDonald’s in 2006, when the boy was 17. It said Kelly invited the boy to his studio, purportedly to help the boy with his musical aspirations. Kelly allegedly asked the boy what he would do to succeed in the music business and then had sexual contact with the boy.
