    Things have changed.

I don't think Skiba is a tremendously better live replacement. At least Tom had some personality on stage. The overall "fun" level of the live show has definitely decreased with Matt in the band – and that's the no. 1 reason I go to concerts. That's also to be expected because Matt has never publicly displayed a personality that's anything like Tom's.

Unless we get more things like the disastrous iHeart performance where Matt's ears with Tom's guide vocals were broadcast over the stream.

Controversial but of the 5 times I’ve seen Blink (4 Tom vs 1 Matt), the show with Matt was easily the best one.

Totally miss the Mark/Tom banter though.

Tom had both the best and worst blink show I’ve seen, and they were only 2 months apart lol

I had a weird experience the last time I saw them where I felt like the Enema album set was actually amazing, but the second set of greatest hits kinda sucked. I don't know why, but it felt like the band changed over between sets and forgot how to play

I saw them at their reunion in Boston and Hartford, and Tom was shitfaced at both, iirc

I have zero idea if he's still friends with the guy, but the dude who did the spoken word intro on I Found Away(?) is like an outright nazi now, whether he had those leanings back when he recorded with them? I have no idea. I would imagine uhhhhhh there'd be *hints* but I wasn't there, I don't know. All I know is he's a piece of shit garbage human now and his voice is on an AK3 recording.

A good sign of Mark focusing back on music. I think a few weeks back he said he couldn't even listen to anything.

One of the times I saw them post reunion Tom was so wasted haha. To the point he was screaming First Date because his voice kept going.

Nice to see Mark feeling well enough to do some more bass playthroughs (Untitled tracks) on twitch today!

Kind of missed the the discussion but as a bigger Alk3 fan than Blink, the thing I was most excited about when Skiba joined the band was the thinking of hey maybe he can help bring out the darker edgier blink like self titled. It didn’t quite materialize at first but Nine definitely leaned more in that direction. My only complaint I think is the guitar tones on Nine seemed a bit...smoother? Polished? Than self titled so even the darker heavier songs didn’t seem to have that ‘edge’ to them, if that makes sense.

Also Matt platforms terrible people/books/visuals a lot. He needs to learn why that is problematic. But I’ve also heard him say anti-racist stuff and I think he even told stories about fighting Nazis at punk shows in the early 90s or something like that so, it’s one of those “he’s not a Nazi but dude really needs to grow up from the ‘I don’t care what they believe they’re nice/good people to ME’ mindset”. He thinks it’s totally acceptable to defend terrible people/associate with them because hey they’re friends of his and etc and yeah maybe in private that shit is passable but, you can’t be publicly giving these people cover. You got too many impressionable people on the internet who won’t think critically about what that friend of yours is spewing.

I think at the his new level of “fame” with blink, that line between private vs public friends is a lot more blurry.

    Very sad dad

My initial reaction to hearing songs from California/Nine for the first time: This sucks.

My reaction to listening to the whole album: actually this isn't too bad.

My reaction a few days later: I have completely forgotten every song and have no desire to relisten to them ever again.

Nine is easily their best album since Untitled. Granted, there were only two between them haha.

I honestly can't even remember what that song even sounds like, lol. I just wasn't a fan of nine at all, but it wasn't the worst.
