Also, just book this last night. Why have Charlotte win and drop the title <24hrs later when they could have booked basically the same ending at the PPV? Or have another non-finish at the PPV to have a reason to run the match back

What I'm guessing maybe they fire him because they were paying him too much money and rehire him with a new contract that would make less money? From what I read his contract before getting fired it was for 1 million a year.

So many things that were questionable on Raw. The Karrion Kross match…? I mean why? And instead of building up a potentially solid feud with Lee and Lashley we get Goldberg!? What a waste.

The Nikki cash in was unexpected, but now Charlotte can just pile on more title reigns. Wonder how long it this will last for Nikki.

 

I wonder if it would be better to just have NXT as it’s own separate entity with no more “call ups”. They botch the shit out of it almost every time.

Exactly this. The Keith Lee situation is was less forgivable than Kross's. If losing to Jeff that way is supposed to simultaneously get Kross's first loss out of the way so you don't have to be bogged down by an undefeated streak story and unleashes a more sadistic side of him, sure. I think it's a bad idea for someone debuting on the main roster who the NXT crowd has already soured on a little bit, but it could work. The Keith Lee thing, like, what was the purpose for his story? Should have absolutely been a Ricochet or Sheamus in that situation.

Actually, the matches should have been reversed. It should have been Jeff versus Lashley. Jeff can job out to anyone in any fashion at this point in his career and still remain incredibly over/been seen as a legitimate option for any title without any build; Keith Lee returning to face Kross could combine both NXT continuity while also giving both guys the chance to get over together if they have a meaningful feud.
