I don't think they are a weird opener. They were great opening for Passion Pit and were set to open for Frank Carter in the states before that tour got cancelled. They played Riot Fest in 2019 and the Tornoto one years ago, as well as have opened for Foo Fighters before. Although none of that really matters aside from the fact they are a good band and deserve to be opening the tour. They aren't really out of place (nor is having an all-female band like them opening weird either).

 

Well then that’s more on me being ignorant than anything. I’d never heard of them before this tour. I’m glad they actually have some diversity on the bill instead of another all white male nostalgia act.

 

Los Angeles can get Drowning Pool, but Circa Survive still won't add a date over here? Smh.

The Beaches opened for TBS at their 2019 Holiday Spectacular. Guess they hit it off.

 

Deafheaven tour

 

King Gizz, Lana, and Janelle Monae all just cancelled on Bonnaroo.

Rufus Du Sol and Khruangbin are replacing them.

 

Who? hahaha. Seems like a bummer of a replacement for Lana and Janelle.

 

Khruangbin are really really good but I feel like the Lana people as well as the King Gizz people are very different fanbases that are both not going to take that very well at all lol

There's literally no one like Janelle Monáe tho so it's not like there could be a "replacement" there

Festivals are gonna be weird this year, kinda gotta just roll with it

 

You've never heard of either? Khruangbin is a psych-rock band, they just put out a collaborative album with Leon Bridges that is pretty great.

Rufus Du Sol is one of the largest "live" electronic acts in the world. They're also near the top of the bill for both ACL and Gov Ball. They're a huge get and will be debuting a new show at Bonnaroo.

 

The same day Im seeing Phoebe Bridgers at Pitchfork Featival, ugh :(

It makes me more sad that both venues are like 2 blocks away from each lther

 

Is the pitchfork festival Phoebe’s only headlining set scheduled for 2021?

 

"Headlining" yes, but she's playing Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, Austin City Limits, and Shaky Knees as well.
