Does it actually not matter if there are two balls on the field? Or is that just a special case?

    hmmm

Sam Matterface on a mad one at the end. Obviously trying to come up with some iconic commentary moment and ultimately just telling everyone to do what they want during a pandemic and not go in for work tomorrow.

I heard about that but wasn’t watching on ITV. I’ll have to look out for it, sounds like it was hilarious.

No idea who he is and why he's getting the England games over Clive Cyldesley, but that's ITV for you.

ITV using the word "soft" instead of "dive". Very diplomatic

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Lucky with the penalty, but much the better side in the end. Feels bad to dump Denmark of all teams like that.

Italy loom large. Very nervous about that. We seem to have a tendency to have 15-20 minutes in the first half where we go very wonky. We do that against Italy and they might well batter us.

I’m bringing it up again, I think it’s very fecking strange that Italy get an extra days rest ahead of the final.

I suppose it’s always like that though

I'm fairly sure he was getting a dig in towards the BBC, too. He mentioned the curse that ITV apparently has when broadcasting England games. He then went on to ask for viewers to "stick with him" (or something like that). Do both the BBC and ITV have the final? It would all make sense if that's the case.

Unbelievable feeling. What an achievement by Southgate and his team. A real chance for them to cement their place in English footballing history. That was harder work than it could have been but we got the job done, but I’ll take another 120 minutes of agony if there’s glory at the end of it.

Yeah they both broadcast it, that was him making the most of the ~30 million that were watching to plug their coverage. Won't help, after the 120 minutes of shite prior

Yep. Of course if ITV were going with Tyldesley and McCoist I'd probably go with them on Sunday. As it is...

The ref only has to stop the game if the second ball interferes with the play or if it can be mistaken for the original one. I think that wasn't the case.

    I do not exist.

Wow I genuinely can’t believe England have made a final in my lifetime. Surreal.

I thought we were the better team from half time onwards. Denmark defended well but were unlucky. If they were playing any other team in a semi final I would have been supporting them.

Looking through the thread and I’m surprised to see people saying Sterling dived. It was never a penalty but he was clearly falling. The contact to his back was minimal and I would have been aggrieved if that was given against us. Awful decision.

Italy will be tough. Can’t see us winning but the important thing is being there and from that point, you never know...

omg there is so many people, English and not English that have just lost the ability to take a joke and it's glorious. it's like brexit twitter, but funny instead of horrifying.

@Garrett Everton have been linked to Lenglet this morning. Apparently, our DoF wanted him before we signed Mina. Is he really the fine footballer suspect to lapses in big games that you said he was? I'm only reading negative things, you see.

He’s really good, truly. His big moment lapses are usually season defining. Let me see if I can find this thread that lists them. But week in, week out, he’s professional, covers Jordi rampaging forward.

I’m relatively certain that Dermot Corrigan tweeted it, and adds to it when things happen again, but can’t find it.
