  5. What, you people don't wear a bulletproof vest in the bath? Sheep, all of you.

For real though I'm getting pretty f u c k i n g t i r e d of famous people who can afford all the medical care in the world spreading conspiracy theories about literal SCIENCE.

    wow Morrissey said something stupid.

If you were still supporting him and this changed your mind, maybe take a look at yourself.

If people have changed their minds over Morrisey then good, I say let's support and encourage that. Acting superior to those people, imo, isn't helpful and doesn't really have a place in this thread.

That also implies that learning what Morrisey said two days ago (or whenever that interview was) means you know everything he’s said before that. Could be plenty of people who don’t know how many dumb things he’s said, heard this one and will now walk away from him / his music.

This. I have a friend who's trying to actively listen to more pop-punk/"scene" music after not doing so for a decade, and she shared me a Falling In Reverse song. I then sent her a couple links and explained why I don't think she would be into listening to them based on Ronnie's past behavior & she was very put off & said she won't listen to them anymore. This site & this thread are fantastic, but the reality is that most of us on this site are extreme music fanatics who represent a small percentage of any artist's fandom. Like many others, I worry this thread has become an echo chamber that deviates from its purpose

So Uzi shot his ex gf in the stomach and the police were not called immediately? Also, didn’t Megan get shot by Tory Lanez earlier this year?

So again, how are Uzi and Tory not facing charges?

Yea that first article implied she was shot, just read another and it correctly said she was punched numerous times by Uzi.

Again, this happened in a crowded cafe, how is the dude not arrested? I mean, he wore a Marilyn Manson piece around his neck for awhile, are we shocked he’s a scumbag?

You just KNOW “I wear a bullet proof vest in the bath” is going to be a lyric on a ploddy, boring, middling Morrissey album track soon.

I’ll never hear it though, because I like to pretend he died after releasing You Are The Quarry.

"I WEAR A BULLET PROOF VEST IN THE BATH," yells Morrissey, shrieking as the heavy kevlar vest drags him underneath the water. "I guess I'm cancelled now, so much for the tolerant left," he gurgles from underwater, still refusing to take off the vest trapping him beneath the surface.

It's great that Proper is dropping off the tour after talking with the survivor, and obviously they got a lot of attention because of their many defensive tweets re: being on the tour/restorative justice/etc. BUT let's not forget that Belmont and Capstan are also still on the tour and have been completely silent about touring with TMP. Those bands are not exempt from criticism either just because they have been silent.

(I do wonder if Proper dropping off will cause either of those bands to also drop)

Still not really fucking with them after the shit they pulled on twitter. Super aggro, fucked up behavior towards survivors on there that deserve apologies

Good to see them own up to their bullshit but yeah I'm also personally out on that band. Not going to fault anyone else for listening to them though, they did the right thing in the end, and them taking the big step of actually dropping off the tour brings attention to the issue at great personal expense to them. I'm just personally not a fan of how they handled any of this.

If they had simply done this from the start instead of spending 2 days being overly aggressive toward anyone who tried to say they were doing the wrong thing, it would be such a different story. Overall I’m glad they’re bringing attention to the fact that the TMP situation is not “resolved”, and they admitted they went about it the wrong way.
