It's really interesting. I've seen quite a few shows booked at venues that seems 2-3x too big, but I'm also seeing shows booked at tiny venues and selling out instantly. Probably just a matter of bookers being either overly ambious or ovely cautious when booking shows without knowing what to expect coming out of the pandemic.

 

Probably also to do with what venues are available given the scale of tours happening this fall.

 

For anyone in the Houston area:

 

Lorde tickets were very easy to grab for San Francisco

 

Lorde has 2 nights in NYC so I imagine those won't be tough as the date gets closer.

 

Me sitting here wishing ETID would drop your dates already

 

This keeps my hopes for a headlining Phx show alive for a bit more

 

Angels and Airwaves AND The Front Bottoms both announced Chicago shows for October. Kinda blown away Lolla would let them do that

 

So excited

 

Just a couple months ago in this thread, we weren't sure we'd have shows in September, and if so they'd be all outdoors. Vaccine rollout ramped up, and I assume that everyone in the industry collectively said "fuck radius clauses, let's play shows & make money".

Unrelated, remember when Limp Bizkit announced a club tour the other day that starts in 5 weeks? Life is so weird

 

Totally. Riot Fest has been super chill with it too

 

The best has been having bomb ass shows get announced 5 week in advance.

 

Lollapalooza too. Noga Erez is playing Lolla, an aftershow at Thalia Hall and then Thalia Hall again 2 months later.

 

6 weeks from now I see my first show back! And then I have a show every 2-3 weeks for the next year

 

My first two shows back are Japanese Breakfast and Limp Bizkit...what a time to be alive...

 

My first show back is gonna be Foo fighters

 

First show back is going to be Bully

 

My first show back is going to be a drag show. Seeing Nina West. And then a couple weeks later seeing Payday and AG Club.

 

Unless something else comes up, my first show back is gonna be Joyce Manor

 

My first show back was Kings of Leon in April. I’ve been to three others. But my first in a “real” venue will be Billy Idol on 8/3.

Have a few local freebies coming up in the next month: Cracker, JoBros and Lita Ford. The first and last I’m mainly just going because it’s free. (None of them are in “real” venues though.) And: gigs!

 

My first show back will be either Everclear/Living Colour/Hoobsastank/Wheatus or Limp Bizkit haha

Going to the Band of Horses aftershow next month, and man, it's...gonna be emotional for me.
