We can only dream! As soon as United's official kit launch goes live he'll be there with the No.7 shirt on every billboard in greater Manchester :tear: lol

I’d be shocked if Cavani isn’t used in that, yeah.

Sancho is so much better than Sterling. Maddening he isn’t getting a look in.

Henderson has impressed me, starting him next to Phillips in the next game would work for me.

Play like a team that's manager's only achievement is getting Middlesborough relegated.

    Regular

Fairly routine win. They had a big chance in the first half but not much else. First half was decent but the second half made for full viewing. Saka and Grealish were impressive. It makes such a difference having midfielders who carry the ball up field.

Looking forward to seeing us line up against a real contender in the next round.

For years I though Southgate was the one who took Boro to the UEFA cup final back in the day, just checked now and it turns out that was Steve McClaren lmao. Literally had to delete a post under yours where I was like "uhh, ACKtually..." :verysad::crylaugh:

If all current seeding holds, England’s prize for winning their group is Germany. Ouch.

    hmmm

Just following the usual plan - some broadly joyless group games against inferior teams, get through, knocked out by the first good team we face.

On the other hand, if they beat Germany it’s an easier run to the final.

As for Arsenal, it’s more absolute chaos lol

Imahine growing up a HUGE Arsenal fan, breaking through and becoming a big signing for them, only to suffer a bereavement during a global pandemic and be shipped out on a successful loan, only to be rejected again by a guy who took the club to their worst ever season.

    fuck sake.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Mixed bag of a game last night. Thought we looked a bit punchier in the first half than we have so far. Grealish and Saka really livened the place up. Also, after all the talk of us having all these amazing attacking talents and a wobbly defence, we've managed two goals and not much else.

Meanwhile, we had a back four last night who all played serious minutes for the top two clubs in England last year and both teams also played in European finals as well. It's not like we're fielding donkeys. :crylaugh:

I would have liked to see Kane off and DCL on at half time yesterday. Kane just looks so off at the moment. There was a point in the first half where he played a one two with someone and created this beautiful gap for himself. The pass back to him looked great and he just couldn't get it under control for a shot. On form, I'm sure he'd have eaten that up.

England look good in fits and spurts but never seem to pull it all together. Hot take, but their defence is really fucking good if picked properly like last night. Especially if Southgate continues picking two defensive minded midfielders in front of them. However, against a good team I think that midfield is the biggest issue.

Neither Rice nor Phillips are great on the ball and looking at who he prefers up top, I think against a good team possession might be hard to come by. That’s a general issue with the England squad though.

I think they’ve got a good chance at going the whole way if they can get the front 4 purring.

It’s also still mad seeing two players that came through the Ireland youth teams playing in that team. Usually it’s the other way around hahah.
