i would say the talks happening at all is an indication of external studios being able to determine the success of netflix movies without concrete numbers considering he wouldn’t have gotten the netflix movies made at other studios and wouldn’t have gotten to made doctor sleep without those netflix movies but okay lol

 

Aren’t Nielsen ratings mostly bullshit too?

Lots of issues with Nielsen ratings due to who participates in the surveys and more

 

Nielsen, like any system, has its problems, but it is better than a system without any sort of third-party measurement other than the company itself telling people what the numbers were. Netflix has tried to contradict Nielsen's estimates in the past, claiming a much higher viewership for Bird Box than Nielsen did.

 

Netflix’s internal numbers suck but Nielsen is terrible and are not worth defending at all

 

Yeah Nielsen is truly trash in every sense of the word.

 

That Midnight Sky movie was garbage.

 

I can't blame her at all but it's definitely a bummer

 

i'm still a bit surprised that linklater even wanted to go with a fourth one, especially with how midnight concluded as perfectly as anything could

 

I feel like he'd be able to make compelling movies with them forever

honestly the GOAT trilogy

 

I'm they could make more great films but I really do love it as a trilogy. Plus I like having it all on the criterion set lol.

Maybe they do one more film in like 30 years or something.

 

It ends so beautifully and perfectly in Midnight that I have a hard time imagining where it would go from there.

 

Every ending to those films could have been an overall ending

 

The second film is the best one with the best ending.

Hopefully she ends up doing it. They don't seem like they take that long to make and Linklater has never had a reputation for being hard to work with.

 

third is the best imo though i don't love how cleanly the end resolves the fight
