There are venues here in Chicago that start shows on weekdays between 9PM-10PM and it sucks, especially when it's an artist you really want to see playing there. (If you live in Chicago or are from Chicago you probably know which ones I am referring to)

most shows i've been to at big venues have been good about 15 minute changes for opening acts but there's always that 25-30 min gap between main support and the headliner. Especially considering there's no setup since all the drums and amps are setup and sound checked already. anyone know what the deal with that is?

I moved to Chicago in 2019 and most of the shows I have been to ends around 10pm. Which venues are those that start late?

Empty Bottle, Sleeping Village, The Burlington, The Owl are ones that are pretty much always 9PM or later.

That sounds heavenly. Most the shows I go to in OC/LA end after 11:00

Jeremy from ADTR said they are definitely doing a tour this year and the announcement could drop any day now while giving a radio interview last Friday.

I have only been to Sleeping Village once, for the Beach Bunny release album. I thought it started late because it was an special event lol

People are complaining about shows being over too late? I enjoy seeing the headliner go on a little later, 10-ish or so. Something about leaving a venue before 11pm feels weird to me.

The Chicago Theatre capacity is 3,600. Getting tickets for that Lorde show will be hard and expensive. Fuck.

Interesting that she's no longer an arena act in the US, guess Billie stole her vibe ha.

The Lorde venues don’t really surprise me tbh. Lorde is great and I loved her 2018 tour but it didn’t draw well. Some venues didn’t sell half.

When I was abroad in Spain it was so weird that festivals end aroubd 3am and 6am. The festivals I went to, the hesdliners is not the last act of the day, the play around 11pm-1am with other acts performing afterwards.

I rather leave a venue at 10pm than at 6am

    Agreed. I'm a 30 y/o with a 7 y/o son and I thought I'd feel like this once I hit 30 but nah I prefer when shows end at 11.

Primavera! That was my favorite part of that fest...the shenanigans and weird vibes we picked up after the headliner were amazing. Seeing Charli, FKA Twigs, and Nina Kraviz from like 1:30AM to 6AM was a fucking party!

Maybe I should add, speaking as a 35yo man with no intent on ever having kids at home lol
