I don’t expect billie nor think its necessary for her to issue a statement or address things her boyfriend said a on social media a decade ago. the things he posted are gross, but idk what accountability we are looking for here.

Even though it was a decade ago I think the dude needs to denounce those things he said. People can’t just assume he’s changed because it was so long ago.

is he even famous? who does he need to address, is he a public figure? is he supposed to apologize to... billie's fans? his personal friends and family? his facebook friends? i don't quite understand any of this

 

Apparently he’s 29. If you want him to denounce those things cause they are obviously disgusting, fine. But I also don’t think we should make a huge fuss over things people said in their teens and are now a decade older. I also don’t know if this guy even has a platform of any kind other than being Billie’s boyfriend, so idk what kind of accountability this is really looking for.

 

You don’t have to understand it. Just get your beating stick and go get him.

 

I know we don’t want to hold someone’s feet to the fire for something they said when they were 19...

but at 19, I experienced traumatic and systemic anti-gay abuse from many people in my small town. Stop giving these people a pass...if you’re goin to hold people accountable then hold them accountable.

The damage that can be done to a LGBTQIA person from abuse at a young age is staggering. Fuck this dude, and fuck Billie for trying to say people are making this up.

 

I gotta say, I cannot find where Billie accused her fans of making this up.

Edit: nvm, I’m guessing it’s the reaction to a post she liked that says her fans are embarrassing and suggests making things up

 

Maybe I'm incredibly cynical but posting this the day before RSD seems very calculated. I'll have to wait and see what changes the employees actually see

 

The post that Billie liked wasn't even in reference to her boyfriend's situation according to the account that posted it. But even so, sometimes I think people put a little too much weight into things people "like" on social media.

This is honestly how I felt about the whole ordeal. Definitely a push for everyone who called them out to come back for RSD.

I'm holding out for a while. The Salem store is the one I went to the most, so want to see BM actually follow through with what they say. Otherwise, I'll got to Newbury Comics and some of the other indie stores in the area
