I'm so tired of the SAME POWER METAL TEMPO

Every other power metal song these days has to be some rip-off of either Emerald Sword or Through the Fire and the Flames. Ironically, the two share the same tempo. Listen to the new Twilight Force album, Dawn of the Dragonstar, or any Sho-era Galneryus album. It's just so utterly tiring. I adore power metal, but it's just going on too long. Even Blind Guardian are guilty of this fallacy on their album Imaginations From the Other Side.

Actually, I only got to talking about them yesterday because I'm probably going to do an overhaul of my top power metal albums in general, and Blind Guardian is one of the bands I'm going through. My favorite's actually Helloween.

 

Actually, you might be right. In my recent power metal overhaul, I've lowered my rating for The Dark Ride and I'm considering a Blind Guardian album for my new number 1. I'm not sure which one it'll be though. I need to go over a couple of them again.
