Also the survivor herself explicitly said she doesn't trust what he's done and isn't satisfied with how he handled everything after she accused him. Which the person from Proper. knows already because they apparently read the whole statement and are still acting this way.

 

In re-reading the statement from the survivor, I guess I want to point out that it does end like this:

“With all of this being said, I still encourage Dylan to reflect on this statement and on his past behavior, and I encourage him to commit to a more meaningful reckoning of his attitudes, behaviors, and privileges if he is truly invested in transforming himself for the better as he claims. I believe in his capacity to do that, and I genuinely hope he can find purpose and healing along the way.”

This doesn’t excuse any of the way Proper. is acting about it right now, the aggressive tweets are the most disappointing thing about it to me.

was really hoping the survivor could avoid being made aware of this whole dust up, but maybe this is the start of something productive

please, my ever-fraying hope in humanity needs it. today has been such a bummer

 

I hope the survivor is able to have a meaningful conversation with Proper, and hopefully they learn that much of their language and the way in which they went about defending being on this tour is not appropriate and harmful to the survivor. I think it's fair to say Proper are shitty people but I hope this is a huge learning moment for them. Even if they do not drop off the tour, I hope *something* positive comes out of this conversation between the two.

He...still believes he is doing the right thing? Seriously?

 

I don't think this person does believe they are doing the right thing. The defensiveness just doesn't match that. I could be wrong, but... I dunno. Feels more like they're trying to convince themselves it's okay when they know it doesn't really align. Or, I'm talking out of my ass here. But it doesn't smell honest.

Apparently none of this is respectful feedback, according to the most recent Twitter reply.

 

I tried to respectfully air my grievences (that tweet is from me) but yeah, if they don’t think they are doing anything wrong and people are just not being respectful I don’t see what else can be done.
