I'm so excited to see how Brandon Ingram translates to the pro game. Obviously going to take a couple of years of growth, but I'm hoping he turns into a better scoring version of Nic Batum.

    Exactly

  3. I hope the Bulls trade Jimmy Butler and the franchise implodes and is never seen again.

The most disappointing thing about this Bulls season is knowing that even though we won't make the playoffs, the front office will change nothing this summer.

Can't believe Miami lost to the Lakers last night. They've got great young talent but they have their bouts of inconsistency

I think Ingram will translate really well to the pro game. I think the looser, more free style of play is right up his alley. Depending on where his strength and quickness trend, he could be a match up headache similar to Giannis right now. I think one thing teams will really like is that he appears to have less of an ego. He could have easily complained about not being the first option on this Duke team, but he bought into the Duke program and Coach K to let the numbers come his way.

  10. Philly needs to draft Ingram over Simmons.

Silly to assume they'll have that choice

  12. Well, of course they may not get the first pick. Just speaking hypothetical.

The fact that the Bulls think (and yes, management LOVES to play through the media, so there's almost certainly some truth to these rumors) that Jimmy Butler is the problem is precisely why they are in the state they're currently in. They were wrong to let Thibs go, and they were dead wrong to think Fred was the answer for the current roster. There are just soo many layers of issues with this franchise right now, and it's going to be interesting to see who ultimately is held accountable.

A lot of people think they'll get 3, which at this point... I might kind of feel bad for them, eh

  15. Even if LA gets top pick, I think Ingram is the better fit based on what they have. Then go after Whiteside. Wouldn't be a bad lineup.

@Swoos Philly is one of the few teams that I would be ok with them going that direction. I do prefer Simmons to Ingram, but the idea of Philly finally getting a wing with a PER above league average (hell, above replacement level) feels like a good idea. Plus, you have to add in Saric to the mix. They could actually become a fun league pass team next year.

I don't know why, I haven't heard of Ingram having any off the court issues but he reminds me of Beasley a little bit

That's if Whiteside decides to leave Miami, which wouldn't surprise me considering how much he could garner on the free agent market. Miami likely won't have the money to convince him to stay, but a playoff run might influence his decision. Gonna have to see how it plays out.

  19. I think Whiteside will want a max deal. And you can't blame considering he barely even made it into the league. All the Hornets fans think we have a chance since he's a hometown guy but I don't know if we'll have the money.

Miami will have his bird rights and can offer the extra year. The cap is also spiking upwards. The ball will be in Miami's court.

Pat Riley loves his big men, he'll try and keep him as long as it doesn't interfere with whatever he may have planned. Winslow, Whiteside and Richardson look like Miami's future at the moment.

Very true. Miami is in a great cap situation. It's not that far off LA in the grand scheme of things. The cap spike kind of smooths out teams with cap room this summer. Most teams are going to have it. While there is a distinct difference between Cali and Miami weather, in NBA talks it is the same. Both teams have tons of room. Miami has the better front office/ownership group and offers state tax-free income for all games played in Florida. Add in that extra year Miami can sweeten the deal with and it becomes hard to leave Miami real quick.

They're getting Durant and Conley, gonna trade dragic and what little picks they have left for brook Lopez and be a 3 seed next year.

For some reason I thought the early bird exception applied. Good catch. I don't think it changes the fact that Miami has a pretty good chance to retain Whiteside.
