They're releasing switch ports of Soul Nomad/Phantom Brave as one game and calling it NIS Classics volume 1. Stoked to see what else they port

Why Nintendo's 2021 Will Be A Sequel To 2019 (Part 1)

seen this post being talked about, apparently this person has some actual insider sources? Says we're getting MercurySteam's new 2.5D Metroid this year, as well as a 2.5D Donkey Kong game from the Mario Odyssey team. And apparently Intelligent Systems is working on a Switch remake of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Would be pretty sick if true.

 

Intelligent Systems should be working on Advance Wars. I don't need more Fire Emblem remakes.

Apparently the DK game won't be a "Country" game. It'll have some other title.

 

Odyssey remains my favorite Nintendo game so I'm stoked

Yeah hopefully the Odyssey team is able to keep up the same level of quality that Retro's games had.

 

Forgive me I’m still new to FE, but what other “remakes” has there been? I was under the impression there were only remasters.

Edit: Nevermind, I was correct somewhat. Shadows of Valentia is a remake on the 3DS

 

They remade the original Famicom Fire Emblem for the DS as Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. They also remade the second game, Fire Emblem Gaiden, as Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentina for 3DS.

 

I'm ready for a new Donkey Kong game. Hated the way Tropical Freeze controlled. It will be interesting to see what a different dev team can do with the franchise.

 

Donkey Kong is a B/C tier Nintendo franchise. I like a few of the games, but I could never really fall in love with the universe.

 

I agree. It’s really a product of its time and not as adaptable as Zelda or Mario.
