Thanks. After the quick turn around between last season and this it’s just a relief to have a long break now. It was a shame about Rotherham, who really should been out of sight in the first half yesterday. There’ll be a nice South Yorkshire mini league between us, then and Doncaster next year though and hopefully we can get a bit of revenge for the manner of our defeats vs them this season.

Whilst he probably doesn’t have a great record, he will have come to Brentford with a reputation for style of play and player development. Brentford’s scouting system is advanced enough that Frank will have been on the radar before Dean Smith left. Should Frank suddenly leave they’ll already have a short list of managers to continue their philosophy. It’s the same with players, they have ready made replacements lined up for players they expect to be signed. Usually stronger performers in lesser known leagues.

Toney was an obvious one though, as Peterborough themselves have a reputation for bringing on young players. They command big fees for their youngsters and it would require money from sales of a player like Watkins to be able to afford him. On paper he’s the ultimate championship player and had every attribute of the strikers that succeed at this level.

Douglas Luiz finally punished for kneeing people in the arse.

On the Spurs thing, wouldn't be surprised if they sign a number of players early in the window and Kane is sold late. It never works out well when a team gets a huge fee for a player and then tries to use it, because every other club knows just how much cash they're sitting on.

Felt I wasted an hour of my life watching the first half so I started doing things around the house. Missed all the action

I’m pretty sure our player don’t know we’re playing in white and black

No Watkins for the game against us. Lovely stuff.

    hmmm

See us spending £35 million on Andy Carroll after we sold Torres for £50m.

My favourite bit with that is that we got Enrique, Tiote, Cabaye and maybe Ba the following summer (Carroll was sold in January and not immediately replaced) and ended up finishing above Liverpool the following season.

Short term gain - that season got Alan Pardew an eight year contract.

Safe to say West Ham aren’t winning this. We’ve wrapped up top 4 and now have two games in 4 days that will decide who will get the fourth spot, Leicester or Liverpool. I’d be shocked if we don’t play a complete reserve side against Leicester.

I sometimes feel a bit conscious of moaning too much about Arsenal on here. Especially when people here have seen their club relegated, or you see people whose clubs have had to disband like Bury. I'm aware those people would LOVE to finish the 10th best club in England and get to a European semi final.

    BUT

Seeing Willian starting another game for my club makes me want to chuck my television out the fucking window.

Godfrey by name, Godfrey by nature. Seriously, though, that was a solid defensive performance from him and the rest of the backline. Also, how shit must West Ham be to let DCL score with his feet?

Wait, it seriously took him 37 games to score his first goal for the club?
