I can actually make out cocaine in one of their songs and they're from Florida so it's an assumption.

 

I'm just joshing. Sanguisugabogg call themselves "down-tuned drug death" though and while the lyrics might not be about drugs (I couldn't tell you, I have no clue what they're saying), the band is constantly tweeting about weed and hallucinogens.

 

Point is - more death metal bands should write about drugs versus gore and satan.

Speaking of Sugabuga I finally listened to the record. It’s not bad but I wish it was all as good as “Dragged by a Truck” lol wild ass song

 

Speaking of them, I'm waiting for the tape release on Daze for the Sandybooger album. I don't get why the single LP on Century Media was $35 bucks.

 

Yeah I went to go pick up the Enforced record at a store downtown and it was also $35 — for a single LP in a flimsy non-gatefold sleeve. Pass!

 

Like I get that vinyl prices have shot up like everything else in the wake of COVID and natural inflation, but I can still routinely get single LPs packaged like that for $15-$22 before shipping depending on the label. Hell, I just bought pre-ordered the new Drug Church EP bundled with their last LP for $34 before taxes and shipping through Pure Noise so it's not just limited to smaller DIY labels. Does Century Media just have that much overhead they need to charge that much for LPs in that packaging?

New Gorija is ok. It’s a pretty safe record but there are a couple of tracks I will definitely revisit. Really liked the closer.

More melodic than I was expecting. Not bad at all though, but it just lacks that fire their early material has. I still am not going to complain about any new At The Gates we get ever though.
