Re: Playing shows during the pandemic, there was a big hardcore show in NYC yesterday with no masks or distancing. It's been getting a lot of discussion in various groups I am in/social media

 

Jesus so that was actually real? A kid I know posted an Insta story at that show and I just assumed it was a memory from years ago.

 

That show was in my neighborhood. Fuck Madball and everyone else there for putting my whole community at risk.

 

Antivaxxers are a fucking threat to society at large. Hardcore is about unity, community and compassion above all else even at its most unhinged and I don't fuck with anyone who doesn't see that. Joe Hardcore can go right ahead and die from contracting covid at a show during a pandemic for all I care; he understands the risks and shouldn't pretend otherwise.

I unfollowed John recently because of all the COVID misinformation he was posting. Disappointing, to say the least.

Just came across this article: City Says Jam-Packed Tompkins Square Park Hardcore Show Applied For Permit As "September 11 Memorial"

Apparently the promoters got a permit by saying it was a 9/11 memorial. The promoters are denying it of course but one of the promoters (Drew Stone) is a racist pos so i'm not too surprised.

 

Parks Department spokesperson Crystal Howard told Gothamist, "We are moving to revoke all permits for this organizer and related future events," which included seven events altogether.
