I think I would prefer for this to be the case

Agree. I don't dislike the song, buts hard for me to imagine a record around it.

Unless they blatantly lied in the press release then it's on the album

I could see how they could use their awkward phrasing and not put it on there, but I'm thinking it's on there.

No Mene though. That was a one and done.

Yeah I think there is a high high likelihood it is, and about zero chance Mene is

Things change. I wouldn't consider it a lie if it isn't there.

I'm gonna say none of it is on the album since it's basically the music equivalent to vaporware.

I just wouldn't be shocked if we get something completely different than what's been anticipated. All signs say this is it, and just looking at the way these guys handle their band, a lot of though has to be going into this.

On another note, I'm really glad to have been able to experience the entire lifeline of this band. I think they'll be an important conversation piece in the years to come (like Hüsker Du, the replacements, the smiths, refused) and I'm real excited to be able to tell my kids that I was able to experience it.

A lot of thought has gone into this process for them, and they've definitely gone through many iterations of this album, with a lot of songs scrapped in favor of what we have coming in the form of the album were anticipating. A lot of artists do this though, with many songs up in the air, slowly being widows down to those the band things would work on an album.

They're just rereading their final paper, proofreading it over and over again, before they hand it in. Sometimes that process means cutting huge chunks and rephrasing the whole thing in order to fit what fills in the cut material.

Master of not knowing what the hell I'm doing.

I'm not! Sadly a little before my time haha. Think of me as their spiritual successor ;)

I caught Basement on their headline tour earlier this year and it was the worst show I've been too. Such a flat live band.

Trouble Stateside is definitely on the punk spectrum of things. But Is Dead and IWTTDYTS definitely fall into the "recommended if you like Brand New" category

Also don't judge IWTTDYTS by its album artwork haha. Worst artwork ever for an album I love.

Oh I haven't listened to that one yet. Just stateside and the explosives one. I was like how were people recommending for "if you like brand new" haha luckily I gave Is Dead a chance and was like oh ok now I get it

It's funny, the only band I've ever liked that was recommended to me with the "if you like Brand New" slogan was As Cities Burn. They broke up within a month of my discovering them (I don't count their reunion because it didn't produce "good" new music). They're dead as a door nail.
