Wild Pink put out a surprise covers EP today. Other than that, I’ll be checking out Kenny Mason and giving the new Brighten single a few spins! Pretty slow day overall.

A few requests for genre or RIYL tags last week, so I’m gonna give it a shot here. I don’t know what to do with bands that are not quite heavy enough for hardcore and not quite screamy enough to be metalcore so I’m slapping a post hardcore label on ‘em and running away.

    Albums/EPs:
    Hail the Sun - punk/rock
    Holding Absence - rock

    Singles:
    No Momentum (split) - emo
    Arcadia Grey (split) - emo
    Alliteration (split) - emo
    Brigades (reimagined) - pop punk
    Silverstein - post hardcore
    WVNDER (acoustic) - rock/pop punk
    Origami Angel - emo rock
    Hundredth (remix) - indie pop
Two Friends with Point North - electronic/pop punk
FEVER 333 (Nova Twins remix) - post hardcore/punk
    Waxamillion - instrumental math/prog
Lilac Kings (Paramore cover) - emo rock
    Royal Blood - rock
This Wild Life - acoustic emo
Wolves at the Gate - post hardcore
    Foxblood - post hardcore/pop punk
    Downhaul - indie/rock
    Grin & Bear - emo
    If I Die First - screamo/post hardcore
    Headstrong - pop punk
    DREGG - hardcore/nu-metal
    Moray Pringle - instrumental math/Prog
Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster - prog/post punk
    Ghost Iris - djent metal
Asleep at the Helm - metalcore
    Cassettes - rock
Resilia - instrumental math/prog (with vocal features)
    headcave - heavy djent/post hardcore
    WRTHLESS - pop punk
Enter the Animus with Berried Alive - electronic hardcore

Holding Absence, Wild Pink and Hail the Sun. I’ll probably also give the August Burns Red B-Sides a quick gander.

    The rivalry is back on

London Grammar’s singer has one of the best voices in the indie pop space and so far this is as good as would be expected

    also will check out:
    Greta Van Fleet
    Saint Raymond
    The Brother Brothers
    Young Rising Sons

Recommend the new Eric Church album and also Calla Lily by The Brother Brothers, which sounds like what might happen if Good Old War made a country album.

The vocals are quite similar. A track from it came up on my Release Radar playlist a few years ago and I thought it was a new Good Old War track for a minute or two.
