It looks like he had a gun before turning around, which almost makes this worse to me. He’s ordered to stop running, drop the gun, turn around with his hands up. He does exactly that. Stops, tosses the gun, turns around, puts his empty hands up. Then he’s murdered. “Just follow orders” crowd going to be awfully silent.

 

They’re going to be awfully loud anyway. They don’t give a shit, just words to cover for their thoughts.

 

I feel the same way about police shootings that I felt in the year after Sandy Hook when we watched a bunch of 6 year olds get massacred and still had half the country insisting there was no gun problem in America. I just feel so defeated and depressed.

I’ve watched it several times and it doesn’t look like that to me. Not at all.

The gun “recovered” on the scene was unquestionably found several feet behind him. At no point during that video do his arms make any motion that could have resulted in a gun landing several feet behind him. His hands are at his side and then he turns and places them above his head. That’s it.

And the only clear video we have unquestionably show his hands not holding anything.

They were gonna kill that kid no matter what he did. He was dead the moment the cops got there.

Hey, I’m about as angry as I’ve ever been in my life and I’ve had some alcohol so why doesn’t someone complain again that “defund the police” is a bad slogan or whatever so they can catch these hands.

 

Watched the video and wish I didn’t.

Aside from the awful murder (a bad sentence I hope to never write again), does the cop just bowl over someone walking instead of running around them? The whole thing just shows a lack of humanity and professionalism.

ANd then fucking tried to blame the schools because "Well maybe if these kids were in school in person, this wouldn't have happened!"
