If we are being honest, the type of policy/structural change necessary to address climate change isn't being offered up by the democrats. I understand that it is better than nothing or there is a need for incremental change, but those options actually ignore the rate at which we're destroying the planet. There isn't any time for incremental change on this subject.

 

Capitalism, especially in its current fossil fuel-led variant, is wholly incompatible with environmental sustainability.

This entire story is weird.

 

I feel like I should be more surprised a lot of the Bernie voters went toward Johnson.

 

I was totally thrown off by seeing absolutepunk in that url.

 

A lot of people I know are taking that exact same position. They're all anti-Trump, though not really anti-Hillary since I assume their positions coincide with hers rather than Johnson's.

Since NJ's not exactly a swing state, I guess it's a statement rather than policy vote and one against the establishment. The biggest problem is assuming Clinton's going to win the state anyway can definitely open the door for Trump to have a shot.

 

Well, if the charges were dropped, of course then!

 

I read Hillary's speech and I see Tim Kaine mirroring the line she's chosen in terms of approaching it from the anti-racist framework. It actually sickens me, because she is a racist. So, it seems to me, the movement for black lives and the anti-racist affinity movements need to reclaim the discourse from her and set ourselves apart from the paltry defenses democrats would like to put up against fascism/white supremacists.
