Beat Mario Odyssey recently now going through and finding the rest of the power moons. Definitely feel like this is the best Mario game.

Wife and I have also been playing alot of Super Mario Party and I love all the new modes they've added

 

Odyssey sets the bar pretty high.

 

have these been added since release, or do you mean new modes with this release? I haven’t picked it up in over a year but def would if there was new stuff to see.

 

we are five days away from Monster Hunter Rise, how is this thread not flipping out from the hype right now

 

grabbed the bioshock collection, looks good on handheld and I'm excited to finally play 2

 

Story of Seasons is the next game followed by Pokémon Snap.

Nothing new, just the River Survival, Partner Party, Mini game Road thing, etc. I don't recall that being a thing in the last few MP installments

I’ve never played a monster hunter game so I don’t have much interest in picking up Rise

 

Something about a video game where you eat the dinosaurs is just really lame

 

you don't eat them, you carve them up and wear them/turn them into weapons

 

So like, do you just go seek out innocent monsters trying to go about their day. Are these monsters just chilling, trying to raise a monster family when a bunch of armored nuts come and start killing them all?

so do the monsters usually deserve their fate, or is it kinda like they are getting ruthlessly slaughtered

Not trying to be weird, just truly trying to discern what the motivation in the game is since I’ve never really looked into the series before.

 

Lol the game is just you teaming up with friends and slaying them, they could at least do more to explain why that trex can’t just go about their day and work their construction shift. The style of gameplay is nice, I just wish it was something more relaxing like messing up the flowers on grants island lol

 

some of them are yeah, others are malicious and need to be put down

 

I believe there’s actually a more fleshed out plot than the series has ever had before in this one

 

A recent MH (might be the most current one) is definitely a “monsters are attacking us so we must fight” game, while some others are more “we must hunt monsters for food and supplies” I think, I haven’t played too many

 

Every Monster Hunter game I'm like 'maybe this will be the one that finally hooks me on this franchise' and it just never clicks so I'm really on the fence about picking up Rise, it looks fantastic but idk, maybe these games just aren't for me

 

I absolutely hated the controls and feel of Rise, but I really liked World.

 

Really enjoying Bravely Default. There's a been a few occasions where i've had to really grind to defeat a boss though and whilst i like that, i feel it may be too much. Still enjoying the heck out of it though.
