they're three of the best on there so I'd say yes it definitely did haha. I probably would cut some songs though because it's a tad long.

Yeah I would cut songs because the album is long, but not because I dislike the songs. Title Track, Toys (I know a lot of y'all feel differently here), True Ugly, Old Flames, and Lucky Stars are all second tier to the rest for me. Even if all of those were cut, that's a 10 song, 52 minute long album. I could add Old Flames back in to be a proper "closer".

I agree in so far as I would prefer a shorter record. However, the problem I run into whenever I mentally try to cut songs is that virtually every song has a moment or two I love and want to keep on the record lol.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Can't believe the album is an hour and 19 minutes....literally all but 3 songs are over 5 minutes lmao

I'd be fine cutting Queen of the Dark, True Ugly and All on Fire, that would make the whole thing stronger. I could probably take one or two more off and it would be very strong. Put those out as a little b-sides ep and everyone wins.

I love QOTD and All on Fire, haha. Seems like most of us agree it could be shorter, but none of us agree on which songs should be cut. So, maybe it's good they included all of them.

My cop out answer is that I don't necessarily think songs should have been cut, but song LENGTHS should have been trimmed.

Like, Toys does not need to be 6 1/2 minutes long lol.

True Ugly is incredible, might've been the highlight of the show last time I saw them live. Cut Love Protocol + Pavilion and the record is almost flawless.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Listening to the latest Inferno singles as I only heard "More Than Love". The Stand By Me cover rules! It took me about 2 minutes in to realize what it was.

If you *made* me cut one song it would be All On Fire. I don't wanna cut anything though

Yeah I feel that. Great song, but if I had to choose one.

I still see people talk down about Lucky Stars, and I adore it. It totally gives me early Coheed feelings, and that guitar solo is so good. It doesn’t surprise me I guess because I also love Iron Fist, and I know people throw shade on that tune as well. I remember people always freaking out, and posting the live version before it was released. So I chalk it up to that people had a different expectation for it than what we got.

Studio version of Iron Fist might be my least favorite Coheed song. Lucky Stars is fine, kind of up there with Subtraction for me. They're good but I enjoy songs like Mother Superior, TLATG (maybe an unfair comparison), The Road and the Damned, Far, Pearl of the Stars, and even Ghost more tbh, if we're talking about Coheed "ballads".

This quote inspired me to re-listen to Afterman

Afterman is better, slightly. Ascension is top tier Coheed, and Descension has Number City and Gravity's Union.

Man Number City is just so groovy. Might have to revisit Descension this weekend

Number City and Evagria the Faithful are two of their more underrated songs, I’ll always go to bat for The Afterman

Coheed is such a weird band to talk about cutting songs from records. It's like, yes, the music fan in me says "yeah, we could cut Toys and I'd be fine with it", but then there's also the aspect that it's all a concept record and every song is likely important to the story. I'll never actually say that I wish songs would be cut, just because ya know, more music is better than less. And songs I don't like as much are also some people's favorites. I don't totally know where this is going, but Coheed is definitely the most conflicting band for me to talk about reduction in track numbers. Also, The Afterman is my favorite Coheed record(s).

Afterman as a whole has a lot of underrated jams. Title Track, Evagria, Away We Go, and Dark Side of Me don't ever get talked about but they're all so good. Gravity's Union is a top 5 Coheed song for me... maybe top 3.

"Goodnight, Fair Lady" is one of my favorite Coheed songs, and definitely my favorite song that Thin Lizzy didn't write.

Yeah I wouldn’t cut any songs off of Unheavenly Creatures but the album for sure suffers a bit from being their first fully self-produced album. I think the album is great on a whole, but a lot of the songs have too much fat, and the sequencing isn’t great either.
