Besides Andra Day’s performance, “US Vs. Billie Holiday” is mostly ass. It’s edited like a college student that just got their hands on Premiere and After Effects.

 

I really don’t know how you can’t find an interesting, thoughtful angle about PTSD and opioid addiction, but yeah, the Russos definitely didn’t find it with “Cherry.” I knew we were in for a ride when it’s broken up into chapters.

The hyper editing is so aggressive and the dialogue is like Mike Millar levels of faux edginess. A big miss.

 

yeah, the hyperstylizations felt very for-the-sake-of-it, like the russos did it simply because they could. should've been better

 

Some econ professor needs to write a lecture/paper/book that analyzes the market for cable subscriptions & streaming subscriptions. They could analyze the market equilibrium for number of paid streaming services, or focus on how many subscribers a streaming platform needs to get in order for it to be a good idea to offer one. Plenty of angles to look at. If done in a fun, easy to understand way, I bet it'd get a lot of attention.

end of s1 is special. I'm a big fan of the later stuff too, but yeah, it's better if you space it out. not quite a show meant for binging.
