    Better than you, sorry

Definitely sounds like what you’d expect ava to sound like. Tbh, and this might not be desired by fans, but I would love if Ryan Tedder wrote a song for Ava/Tom. It’ll push Ava towards Imagine Dragons and such and I think Tom needs that. At the end of the day blink was/is a pop band.

I really like the AVA sound. Saying that, I struggle with the fact that I think Tom has produced better music than Mark and Travis in terms of each individual's musical output outside of blink. But, man, this sounds like every other AVA song he's ever made. The sound is never-changing. It's cool for a while, but when you put on a full record by AVA, the songs honestly blur together. Sounds like more of the same on the next one.

I think this sounds fresh but in line with Rebel Girl. Shrug

I'll take +44 and even Simple Creatures over AvA any day of the week. Tom is a talented songwriter, but I've always thought AvA was boring, and his... I'll be generous and say "unique" singing voice clashes horribly with their instrumentals.

That, and their lyrics are fucking awful. Rebel Girl, anyone?

I like AVA musically. I also think Tom’s voice has fit the music better over the years. That said I agree the lyrics can be horrendous! I don’t get it. Even just the title “Rebel Girl,” like, why? How old are you, again, Tom? So bad. Fingers crossed for the other tunes.

I demand both a +44 reunion and a Box Car Racer reunion. I think the former is maybe doable; the latter happening in any way that could live up to the hype is probably not. But I can dream.

After I empire everything sounds like Love, no originality anymore. Loved his invisible parade song that was on his awful self-titled album. and not saying that I didn't enjoy parts of the The Dream Walker but some of this shit just sounds like hes just banging out songs without any creative thought or even trying. And that's not good. Tom, we know you're better than this.

100% this. I really enjoyed the the first two albums, but after that just a song here or there on each album. The dream walker was a step up from love p2, but that doesn't really mean much. The lyrics almost exclusively prevent me from enjoying the music itself, no matter how good it may or may not be (eg "everything's magic" on i Empire).

This sound bit does nothing for me but I'll always be an AVA apologist

I actually like Love a lot musically but yeah some of the lyrics definitely are cringeworthy. I wish someone would help him in that area. He could be a powerhouse again if he mixed his music with someone with some lyrical prowess!

I liked Love pt 1 overall, but it felt a little bit more of the samey for me and love pt 2... well I didn't care of it at all outside of Anxiety (which is a Jam). Love pt 2 felt really "generic" like the same AVA song kept getting written over and over again. The novelty was starting to wear off. I did appreciate that they were trying something new with Dream Walker and overall I liked it, but I didn't Love it (no pun intended haha).
