Finally listened while doing a walk through the city, this album is stunning. "Self-Control" is so massive. Blessed that we got this and Endless in the span of three days

 

The first half has fully clicked for me (Nikes, Ivy, Solo, Pink + White, and Nights are all top-tier Frank songs) but the second half still isn't fully capturing me

 

Said it when it came out but this is just not clicking with me. As a drummer, this release is sorely disappointing.

same. the only bad bits are the interludes, the facebook bit is lame as fuck, and the anti drugs bit is really odd, she annoys me

 

The be yourself part is odd. Mainly because it sounds like she's pinching her nose when she talks, and it destracts me.

I wonder what it feels like to be dissed by Andre 3000 especially after he gave you a verse on a previous record.

 

considering how hard he went at meek the next few days after im gonna say he was shook as hell

 

too bad it doesn't matter if someone writes all they own verses

That's a weird way to look at it. I'm a singer and I like post-rock and jazz. Are you that stuck in your own experience?

 

it is a weird line for andre to take considering he was in the Pablo sessions, like its a very very open secret how much help kanye gets on his bars

yea, I think Andre's taking a much broader aim at rappers with ghostwriters.

 

Although I will say as a guitarist the guitars on this album are so fucking good

 

it was a little weird how fast everyone assumed it was about drake

 

And everyone failed to note how Andre is really on the wrong side of that debate

 

It feels weird hearing rappers criticize ghostwriting while knowing they themselves have ghostwritten for others. (Not sure about Andre but definitely Kendrick)

 

maybe it's Puffy and he's been really mad about the line don't worry if I write rhymes I write checks, probably not

 

I feel like this conversation could be its own thread but I know that thread would become very very toxic

 

rappers arent exactly the most ideologically consistent people on earth haha, meek pals around with ross and we all know that backstory

 

It's a pretty good run though

Oh the Andre verse itself is incredible
