I’ve always really liked that song. Had a T-shirt that referenced the song for a really long time.

was always disappointed it never became a hit or set staple but if they didn’t enjoy writing it then I’m glad it’s been what it has been.

 

I bought tickets to multiple shows on that tour and ended up having conflicts unexpectedly so I’m glad I get to hear some of them now!

Finally watching the BOATS livestream and goddamn this record sounds even better live. Really glad I bought the live vinyl for this and Direction.

I might buy the “Best Of” livestream because of how well done these shows have been despite not liking most of SILYMI..

 

The World was Rebecca Black's inspiration for Friday... Yea I was listening to it the other day just thinking how out of place it was this clears that up. I still like it, I'm a sucker for a corny song here or there. If the whole album sounds like that, that's not good ha.

 

I listened to "The World" this morning after seeing you all talk about. Can't even remember the last time I gave that album a spin. But yeah, that song is pretty awful, especially as an attempt at writing a "hit single." Haha yikes, boys.

They should have just re-released "Best of Me." haha.

 

I really don’t understand the hate for “The World”..

I was surprised when Ken was talking mad shit about it and I like the chanting part they cut but I guess I’m in the minority on that one? Haha oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m not saying it’s one of their best but I would gladly take it over almost any track off SILYMI.

 

Alright, I bought a ticket for Friday. Gotta show support for the dudes and I would absolutely love to hear Lasting Impressions with a full band.

 

I don't think its better than most of silymi but its definitely not that bad, and its absolutely no worse than bedroom talk

 

As I was re-listening to BOATS I got really angry at how amazing “Autography” could be if it was a set staple. At least we have this recording of it.

 

SILYMI is the only TSL album I really listen to and I still love just about every song on it. Picking “The World” over any SILYMI song is soooo backwards to me haha.

 

I realized how lucky I am to have heard almost all of BOATS live across 4 shows in a one year period. The only songs I never saw live were B List and Cut! print it. I saw everything else at least once. No wonder I have so much nostalgia for that album.

 

Different strokes for different folks!

I just personally dislike a little over half of SILYMI. I think it’s also aged terribly when compared to BOATS and Direction. I dig Given The Chance, Leaving, Almost There, Decisions, and This Ride... but I listen to The World much more than any of those songs.

I am excited to hear the songs listed above on Friday though! I’m sure they will make those songs a little more contemporary.

 

How did Geffen hear “Stay Where I Can See You” or “Artistic License” and not immediately hear it as a big single??

Major labels are so clueless.

 

Almost no chance either of those songs would have been hits.

 

I could maybe agree with Artistic License but Stay? Hardcore disagree.

Had my own little music festival today. Jimmy Eat World stream at 4pm, snuck a Dirty Nil stream in, ate some dinner and now settling in for TSL. Lets goooooooooo
