K devs last few records haven't really clicked with me. Idk why. In high school, I'd spend a lot of time in a YouTube rabbit hole of his live vids.

 

Sometimes you grow out of the stuff you used to love, which is okay. It just so happens this time you're growing out of good songwriting

 

I had a dream last night that Brand New covered Know By Now - Robert Palmer. Boy was that a wild ride hahaha

Remember the rule: It's never Brand New, until it is. Even then, it's not Brand New until you've stared at it for a few days to confirm that reality.

 

The lineup to the stuffing is pretty impressive! Wonder who the very special guest is since its TBA. Brand New? Haha probably much more likely to be K Dev.

God, this is a special reminder that Out of Range is still so good. I really love that song, it's ridiculous that it's a B Side.

Out Of Range is just okay for me. Still loving the 3 reworked demos though.

You should also check out Gang of Youths new Ep too. They have toured with Manchester Orchestra in the UK. Pretty solid stuff.

 

oh man, even the thought of the new album being a tidal exclusive made me so angry lmao

 

I was thinking I would be okay if their last album was like Out of Range, which is to say really tense but ultimately mostly quiet, maybe some explosions here and there. Flipping Daisy on its head is what I was thinking, still moody but in the other direction ("Bed" aside). Basically channeling Modest Mouse hardcore, which is fine with me. Obviously that's not happening judging from the single, but it would've been a cool direction for them to add to their collection.

 

I know the press release said IAAN is from the upcoming release, but it's been out for so long that I feel like they're going to nix it from the record. Because, you know, reasons and such.

 

I approve! I would love this.

 

Let's be honest - I'd love anything. They just won't release it yet.
