In the video of that woman being shot in the neck, after the gunshot goes off, most of the people who just a few seconds before were foaming at the mouth and violently storming that door, all just kinda mill around befuddled like they can't quite wrap their heads around how doing what they are doing could lead to lying in a hallway with a hole in your neck being videotaped while you choke on your own blood. Someone even says "that sounded like a gunshot!" in a surprised manner.

They do seem to get angry again when it dawns on them that the woman on the ground is seriously injured, but there are other law enforcement people literally standing right next to them within arms reach and they kind of ignore each other for the most part.

Everything about this is so fucking weird.

Gonna be tough to impeach and remove Trump with the House adjourned until after he leaves office, Chuck. Probably should've talked to Nancy about that yesterday pal!

 

When I first heard talks of impeaching Trump now, on his way out, I thought it sounded silly, but I’ve come around on the idea for a couple reasons.

One, I have no confidence in the political class ever holding anyone accountable in any meaningful way ever, including Trump. And, this nonsense ain’t going away any time soon. So, if they somehow used this whole ordeal to actually remove Trump from office (& replace him with the still evil Pence) for even just a few days, it’d at least be something, which would feel nice. At least some symbolic, half empty gesture towards accountability & justice for elected figures would help me not lose my last shreds of willingness to participate in our electoral systems.

Two... I think it’d be kind of a funny ending for his presidency.

(The Cori Bush push to also go after other elected figures would be a lot more meaningful & dope, but I have zero confidence in such a thing happening.)

I mean, one of them reportedly tased themselves and induced a heart attack so... maybe?

 

All these words about justice are well and good but these senators need to start committing to preventing Biden from staffing a cabinet unless there is a promise that there will be consequences for Trump and his administration

That was the number I read: the woman shot in the video, the guy who tased himself and had a heart attack, and two other 'medical emergencies'.

 

I think the other three were heart attacks. Some idiot tased himself. Nothing I’ve seen confirmed .
