I think the chances of that actually happening to begin with were always slim to none.

Agree, just the fear of mob retribution alone means no from the ones even considering it

Holy shit, are they really trying to say that only Antifa showed up to the Trump rally yesterday before the Capitol building storm even happened?

Anyone who didn't see the Republicans quickly sweeping this under the rug by blaming Antifi (aka all Democrats) has been sleeping for the past 4 years.

It’s just a little ridiculous to claim it’s antifa when they were carrying Trump flags, wearing Trump gear, and demanding that Trump be declared the winner of the election. But it’s no longer surprising that none of that matters and millions of people are able to live in a made up reality.

yes. it's completely engulfing boomer/right wing social media too. the narrative now will be that antifa did this, not trumpers, and they will not ever believe differently.

Yeah great instead of doing anything about let’s just always hide in fear from fascists that’ll show em!

Antifa stole the election which is why conservatives are so justified in their anger. Antifa also co-ordinated civil unrest to make it look like conservatives are furious, which they most certainly are not. It really hangs together well.

Yeah it’s already on my timeline on Facebook. People claiming it’s antifa. I mean just look at the people that were there yesterday. It clearly was not antifa.

My favorite thing is the picture post for trying to identify who was Antifa. But they conveniently cut out Qanon Shamans sign that he is holding from the Arizona BLM rally that says Qanon on it. They also used some dude with a Dishonored tat. Like its not even good proof, its shit proof but older people/conservatives on the internet these days are fucking idiots.

Then it comes out that all of those guys are known white supremacists and travel all in those circles. Have pictures of them at white supremacy meetings.

It’d be nice if Congress would pass a law that holds elected officials criminally accountable for negligently spreading false information but it’s almost impossible to get Congress to pass a law that holds Congress accountable

I mean, objectively, they should be doing a zoom inauguration anyway since there is still a deadly plague sweeping the county lol

Easy solution. West Wing it. Make the law applicable 25 years from now. Boom.

The barely-there-constantly-supressed optimistic in me would find some hope in the thought that once the boomers who have no clue how the internet works die then some of this stuff would lose traction, but there seems to be a much younger generation perfectly willing to carry the torch and continue with it. I feel so old thinking that the internet was a complete mistake.
