I don’t know you can look around the league and see rapists, child beaters, and woman beaters who went unpunished making tens of millions of dollars all not playing for the patriots. I don’t really care about tallying it up and comparing, it’s a pervasive issue that the league as a whole (the owners) don’t care to address.
And wasn’t the Jets owner actually in the Trump administration?

 

I get this is getting into dumb semantics, but tbh I don’t get people calling this a coup attempt when it’s clearly just a riot. I guess these people are in a very weird position where they may *think* they are doing a coup, but it’s not like they are claiming they are taking control themselves. They’re doing it on behalf of people who flatly reject them lol. I don’t think anyone outside of that group has been under the impression that there was a risk of this fundamentally changing the result of anything

(This is not to downplay the badness of what they are doing, just thinking about the way we analyze/talk about it)

Had a 2 hour meeting and could not focus on anything. It was with my managers who decided to bring up how they weren’t really impacted by Trump’s presidency and how they tuned out the news for the last few months.

I think if we were to give a reason that it wouldn't be a coup would be because they weren't looking to remove the current government in power and have it replaced, but actually stop the incoming new government and keep the current one in power. Not sure what you call that. I've seen insurrection thrown around a lot, which seems fitting.

But either way, you're right it's just semantics, whatever you call it, it's bad and illegal.

I cannot even begin to express how much this makes my blood boil

 

the whole last 3 months has been a coup attempt. dysfunctional transfers of power, executive military shakedowns, systematic police violence, lack of legal accountability for elected officials, etc. are all common themes in countries that have coups.

 

ALSO some of us aren't posting about our work because there are alt-right databases readily available on the internet that work to doxx DSA, BLM, PSL and other leftist members and we're not trying to risk our safety or our jobs because someone thinks the extent of our work is being admittedly unnecessarily mean, too personal, and going way to far with @David87
