Just found a student in my class tested positive, we have 8 teachers out "sick," and my throat just started hurting this morning, but I assumed that was because of the temperature change.

Really hard to believe this is happening. I mean my county is only at a 20% positivity rate.

Florida is a fucking joke.

 

That sucks. Don't rule out strep throat, though. Weirdly, my wife has had it 3 times in the last 4 months. Worried COVID each time, but turned out to be a mild case of strep. Strange.

Everybody keeps laughing at me when I tell them about this, but you can get at-home, self-administered covid tests on Amazon for $110. Over the summer in one week my wife and I had to get tested I think it was 5 times and we had to pay $160 each time.

Hopefully if you want to get tested it's either free or covered, but if not.

I know this topic is already tired, lol, but I think this is basically the right take. Acknowledge that she didn’t carry the campaign herself like Atlas or whatever, but use her experience & the attention on her to establish a stronger strategy for elections that aren’t against Trump in a pandemic.

 

Yep, been ssaying this for a few years now and I think it's something Manchin can get behind. You have to actually filibuster, not just claim you're going to and that suddenly triggers a need for 60 votes.

Interesting... Wonder what "going to war" on Team Trump really means to them. What can they really do other than wag their fingers at him? Impeach and remove him 2 weeks before he has to leave? Would be rad if they passed some law preventing an impeached president from pardoning himself but I don't see that actually happening

Fortunately, as poorly as florida is handling the situation my district has somewhat done a decent job and we have a nurse on site at our school with tests that are free for us. Actually about to go get tested in a few minutes.

 

That's what I'm hoping for. However, I think we are having a genuine outbreak at our school. We currently have 8 teachers out right now who are either positive or presumed positive.
