They were popular around the time nu metal was a thing but probably gained some notoriety because they were lumped in with the rest, even though they were better than most of those bands. I'd argue they survived and made it out ok, maybe not with the type of success that Deftones has but I think you can easily separate them from the pack.

Fieldy's unique bass playing style is 100% the only thing I enjoy about Korn

 

I think SOAD being the best in that genre would be a pretty popular opinion, I'd certainly agree

 

I'll argue for the earlier Korn records.

It's cool I figured you may have just missed my posts I'm just wondering if you understand why you can't be mad about people defending Kanye even though people criticizing tbs and glassjaw, not everyone was in the previous convo and the exact scenarios aren't the same so people might have different take always from each conversation. Idk I just don't see how it's productive to come at it with that angle

 

Nu metal band I can get down with the most is definitely Sevendust.

 

Damn I forgot all about Sevendust...dude has such a good voice

 

I mean at the time I'm sure the first KoRn album sounded nothing like anything else. Not saying I'm into it though. I love "Make Me Bad" mostly cuz it was on the NHL Hitz 2002 soundtrack

 

Stone Roses stand up really well, band was an all-timer

 

Not their first album but can confirm nothing else sounds like Twist. I can't imagine not knowing who Korn is buying their album and that being the first thing you hear.

 

"She Bangs the Drum" is a perfect pop song. Great band. I know Second Coming was maligned but there are some great songs there
