Gus Poyet is the bookies favourite although I’ve not seen him linked in the press.

Jose Morais has been linked. He was at Barnsley a few years back but was sacked after 15 games. A former Jose Mourinho assistant so his style of play is like to be consistent with what we’ve been hiring since Carvalhal left. His last job was in South Korea where he won 60 per cent of his games. Thorsten Fink, a former Bayern Munich midfielder has been linked. He resigned from a Japanese club in September. Standard obscure managers that we’re usually linked with.

I would like us to have a try for Paul Cook. It seems odd that a championship club hasn’t signed him up after the job he did with Chesterfield, Portsmouth and Wigan. He plays attacking football and knows how to keep a side up at this level with an average squad. Failing that I’d like us to go for Ryan Lowe from Plymouth. Former striker who’s liked by the fans. Doing a decent job playing attacking football. Just someone with a fresh of ideas after the last two and a half years of dreadful football.

Every time United win like this, I smile knowing it keeps Ole in a job.

Don't let Morais' win percentage trick you, he inherited a squad that won the league by 21 points and then subsequently had them finish 1st by goals scored (used ahead of goal difference in Korea) in his first season and then by just 3 points this year. You could make the argument that Ulsan (the second place team both years) has just improved a lot and increased spending and such, but Morais' team Jeonbuk were still outspending Ulsan by a fair whack and it should never have been so close. Absolutely carried by his squad, and the ownership willing to pump money into a league where many other owners aren't.

I may have totally made this up, but I'm sure I read Thortsen Fink was really highly rated as a manager and plays good football. Be interesting if they went for him

Given his history as a player I would expect him to try and play good stuff. According to the local press in Sheffield he’s keen on a move to England. It’s certainly one out of left field and I’d be more encouraged to roll the dice on Fink then give it to someone like Poyet or one of the traditional English Merry go round managers.

I did read that he sliced a clearance leading to Sheringhams equaliser in 99. Late cock ups are a big part of the culture here so he’s got that going for him.

Yeah, Morais definitely wasn’t a name that excited me. That doesn’t sound promising and combined that with his record at one of our local rivals it seems like a non starter. He certainly won’t get a budget competitive with the biggest spenders in our division. We’d probably look to a manager to cut the wage bill as part of squad rebuilding in the summer.

17 games into the season with Schalke. Sitting pretty in 7th!

never mind the fact nearly my whole first team is players I got in on loan :crylaugh:

My centre back pairing is Eric Garcia and William Saliba, and I have Pellestri and Curtis Jones on the wings. Franco Vazquez is my #1 attacking midfielder (though he has been utter shite).

  7. I keep myself away from FM because I’d get sucked in way to easily haha

But I started a career on fifa with PSG and I sold Neymar for $230m lol filled out my team nicely

I’m pretty certain we might be playing the last round of fixtures for a while. Even certain managers are asking for the season to take a break.

Feel like we should just cancel the Euros, and the league cup never should have took place this year either. Too many games with not enough time to play them, and too much risk right now.

Quite the team you could make here

    donnarumma
    Ramos, Evans, Garcia, Alaba
    Wijnaldum, Draxler
    Depay, Messi, Di Maria
    Aguero

subs: Mustafi, Thauvin, Calhonoglu, Mhikitaryan, Ozil, Giroud, Milik

This team would probably get CL in any league tbh.

Would love Donnarumma at Everton. While stranger things have happened, it will never happen.

Won't lie, with the state of my FPL team after these cancellations, I could really do with Newcastle being battered tonight with Salah scoring a few.

    Nothing personal mind.

I only recently found out that this game week is cup qualification week. As of now, a score of 23 or more will see you go through. That's if the algorithm can be trusted, of course.

Angered Leeds fans on Reddit cause I said their club has a small-club victim mentality on social media.

    Truth hurts.

0-0 half time. Not a vintage display at all but we've been creating good chances as the half wore on. Getting in behind their wing backs.

Midfield looks slow on and off the ball and Phillips has been vulnerable at the back. Would like to see Wijnaldum come on at some point soon. His all round game would help us a lot in and out of possession right now.

My good god I hate Schalke. I’ve somehow stumbled into a decent tactic. Was 5 minutes away from cracking into the top 4 with a win away to Dortmund.

of course my players shit themselves and we conceded in the last minute and have drawn the 4 games since.

  24. JM95

    hmmm

Not the best performance but we still created a number of great chances to win. Very frustrating.

Thought Klopp left the subs too late. It was clear we had problems in midfield and it took too long to address them. And why Shaqiri is being brought on for Salah in the 92nd minute, I've no idea. If you feel you have to make that change then you need to do it early enough to actually have an impact.

3 points behind Liverpool with a game in hand somehow.
