Good grief when the piano comes back slower in evermore, I think this is the best song from both albums.

 

5 tracks in and this is career defining. I hear Carole King, I hear Springsteen in his prime. Fuck. What a gift.

I am up to the Haim song. This is solid so far but not much has stuck out. Have to stop for a meeting, looking forward to the back half of the album.

Second half is better imo but man that first half is so strong as well.

 

Marjorie just came on for the first time and those opening notes low key reminded me of Teenage Wasteland.

 

It's rainy, cold, and I've got some devil's lettuce. Time to dive in!

 

Happiness is amazing.

 

Back half is where it really started to click for me. Coney Island onwards is all fantastic.

 

One listen through, it's so good. There are a lot of standouts. Happiness is fantastic. Champagne Problems, Gold Rush, 'Tis the Damn Season, Coney Island, Ivy, Marjorie, and well, Evermore, fuck. Not many people won 2020, but Taylor did.
