I didn't like Freaky. The writing felt a little out of touch. I think coming off of HDD2U, I was just super underwhelmed.

 

Excited to rent it when it's not $20

 

Maniac Cop rules, didn't realize Tom Atkins and Bruce Campbell starred. Excited to watch the sequel(s).

 

I am stoked for this.

 

Anytime there's a new Last Drive-In special, it's literally the only thing that gets me through the work week lol

A Christmas Horror Story was a pretty fun time. Hated the design of Krampus though lol.

Picked up Krampus the Christmas Devil from the dollar tree.

 

Interesting, most people say it's a step up from the first one/the best in the series

 

I’m having a 24 movie marathon on Zoom the day after Christmas, called The Holiday Hangover. Not sure if it's horror adjacent, but I randomly came across Cronenberg's Crash as a Criterion Bluray on Amazon and immediately pulled the trigger because the film has been unavailable for like, years until now. Amazon used to only have used copies. Gonna try to squeeze that one in tonight, maybe double feature with my other Criterion pickup (The Elephant Man).

 

Yeah, so not traditional horror, but WOW. Crash was nuts. Might rival The Brood for my favorite Cronenberg. Graphic and unsettling and unlike anything I've ever seen.

Crash is insane, I've only seen the director's cut and it was like 60% back to back freaky sex scenes

 

Trying to decide if I want holiday horror or VFW tonight.

 

Got my Arrow blu-rays today! Wish they would have come with the slipcovers shown on B&N's site, but still. Excited to have them for tonight. Basket Case, Two Thousand Maniacs!, and The Gore Gore Girls. Never seen a Herschell Gordon Lewis flick, might watch Blood Feast and then Two Thousand Maniacs tonight.

 

Cherry picking episodes of Eli Roth’s History of Horror on Shudder and man is it good. I love the combo of history/context/technique talk.
