When they can tour on it, all hell will be unleashed. This feels like Perseverance era material. The last track is a barn burner.

spinning dISEMBOWELMENT last week re-ignited my love for funeral doom & now I’m listening to Esoteric’s The Maniacal Vale - definitely a top 10 doom album for me & a true masterpiece

I also decided to pull the trigger on a copy of Mournful Congregation’s The Monad of Creation - was a steep price but should be worth it if the pressing is at least decent - another masterpiece

man, cold weather & death / funeral doom go so well together

next up this week Warning’s Watching..., Thergothon, MDB’s Turn Loose the Swans, Skepticism’s Stormcrowfleet & Katatonia’s Dance of December Souls

happy to listen to any recs / favorites for sloooow heavyyyyy doom from you all if you want to throw them my way

for some reason traditional doom, stoner & sludge don’t really hit me the same way, but there are some good exceptions

    yeah good okay Prestigious

Two members of dISEMBOWELMENT went on to form Inverloch, which is kind of a spiritual successor.

Stormcrowfleet by Skepticism is considered a classic of the genre.

And I know I don't need to tell you to listen to Bell Witch! Bit of a different vibe since it's only bass and drums but they're amazing.

Starting to put together my top 25(?) of 2020, and I'm realizing how many things I missed this year. Oops.

Eternal Champion will probably wind up being in my top 3 metal albums of the year.

I still have A LOT to listen to, but 200 Stab Wounds, Fluids, End, Xibalba, Skeleton, Plague Years, Skeletal Remains, Benediction were all pretty solid. I think the other ones I've heard and liked have already been mentioned.

Drain is probably top 3 too, but it's more hardcore, I guess.

    a literal succubitch

My good friend and I keep talking to each other about how 2020 was such a blur in terms of time and such a wet fart in terms of quality that despite keeping up with releases alright we've already forgotten what dropped this year.
