In 2017, after DT came into power, renowned historian Timothy Snyder wrote a book"On Tyranny. Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century". Within the historians-community, many of us were quite critical of this fast comparison of 20th century dictatorships to what wad happening in the US. Sure, trump was bad, but coming out with a warning book like that, as a historian, seemed like a cash grab written in an alerting tone.

Boy oh boy was Snyder right and boy oh boy does the history community owe him an apology.

 

Whenever Snyder was on Real Time (yeah yeah, I know) it was a treat but always terrifying.

April seems a bit early for widespread distribution if I’m being honest. I read they expect to have 100 million doses worldwide by the end of the year (which would be 50 million people because it’s 2 doses per person). Obviously frontline workers will get it first and then high risk people.

Sanjay Gupta on CNN said he would say widely available by the summer, which seems more likely to me.

Also, has there been any reports of side effects or other things with this that they need to do more trials or is it basically ready to go and just awaiting FDA approval? As much as I want a vaccine, i feel like I won’t be itching to go get it unless I am 100% assured that it’s completely safe.
