Definitely needed to look this up to inform myself. 2020 has traumatized me into planning for the worst while trying my best to be cautiously optimistic.

What happens if a president-elect dies before inauguration?

 

This is a little misleading imo unless we only care about how people who voted are doing. Maybe because I see it everyday working with people well below the poverty line but the fact is there were 10 million more people in poverty this year due to the pandemic. Measuring voters is misleading because many of these people don’t vote for various reasons relate to their economic circumstances

I’ve already seen a lot of center right people declare that the suburban swing is proof that Dems rely on center right ex GOPers to win the EC and....what Id really like to see is data on how much of the suburban swing is ex GOP people switching sides vs. how much of it is just the fact that millennials are now old enough To be buying houses and moving to the burbs.

It’ll take a while but a lot of that analysis is also about Biden top, GOP down ballot, and how that works out. Don’t think we will know for a while, but one theory is that the 2018 electorate had a way to say “fuck Trump” by voting for Dems, the 2020 could split the ticket and in the burbs often did. No real way to know for sure for a while, but these split tickets are weird as hell to me for that reason.

It’s my favorite part, they know it’s over, they all use the same metric for themselves, but they just need to keep the fire going so they can make up their debt and try and fill the pockets after running a hilarious bad campaign and running out of money.
