100% this. There seemed to be more scaremongering about the left of the Democratic Party and talk of factional conflicts on CNN last night than there was a denunciation of how far-right the Republicans have shifted.

If the Democrats spend more time trying to build 'unity' with Republicans than the left of their own party they'll only help the Republicans become more palatable while ensuring the Overton window remains solidly centre-right.
