Possessor is good. One of my favorite movies of the year.

 

I don’t know which is going to be more terrifying

 

Will still probably end up watching both so I'll be sure to let you know lol

 

Honestly a 2020 documentary could probably take horror release of the year.

 

I’m a glutton for punishment so I’ll be watching Urban Legend and viewing the politics thread.

 

Realized a couple days ago that I’ve somehow never seen a Cronenberg. Diving into Scanners to distract me from the night

edit: I’m very aware of the head exploding scene but the way it’s talked about I always assumed it was the climax of the film. The fact that it’s barely 10 minutes in is astounding!

 

He's the best. Speaking of Cronenberg, Possessor was amazing, no surprise there. Less of a traditional horror film and more of an extremely violent thriller/drama with an absolutely terrifying concept. Execution (no pun intended) was just unreal good, the casting and performances in particular. Lives up to his father's name. One of the year's best.

 

Absolutely loved the first and third acts of Scanners, middle lost me a bit but I was also distracted checking in on the numbers.

Not gonna get great sleep tonight anyways so on to Videodrome!

 

Definitely add The Brood to your list!

 

Was eventually gonna ask for recs. I have The Fly, The Dead Zone, Crash, and A History of Violence for sure, and I’ll add The Brood now. What else am I missing?

 

The Brood is great. I personally think eXistenZ is underrated. Not horror tho.

It has been ongoing, and this had been talked about as another sequel for months. This is the first thing indicating a reboot.

Also, I rewatched Possessor last night because a bunch of friends wanted to have a virtual watchalong and Vudu gives you the movie for 48 hours. Appreciated it even more the second time around.

Embarrassed to say that I ended up not watching Possessor last night due to The Bachelorette. I was too tired afterwards. Tonight will be the night.
