I read mixed shit about hell house so I didn’t jump right at it...anyone else enjoy that?

 

First one is solid found footage fare...
After that, I don't recommend the others.

 

New Nightmare is so fucking good. if it had come after Scream it would be revered, but as is it's borderline cult

 

One of my all time faves. Might be my fave nightmare, actually.

 

Never watched. Honestly most of the Nightmare sequels aside from 2 and FvJ are blindspots for me

 

New Nightmare is one of the best horror films of the 90’s

 

3 and New Nightmare are the two I'd whole-heartedly recommend. inbetween those two it gets... rough

I actually think I only like the OG, New and one other sequel. They do get pretty rough. Even for slashers. Did they all get full theatrical releases? Can’t imagine that lol

 

They all did, I believe. I love 2

 

He’s not a fan of the Freddy makeup in this film at all hahaha

 

He was terrifying in that one

 

30 Days of Night is a solid horror movie

For some reason, in my head I thought The Babysitter was Better Watch Out and didn't realize they were different movies ha. Just watched The Babysitter and thought it was fun. Will check out the sequel tomo. Also looking forward to watching His House. Heard good things.

Btw, Better Watch Out is a fun movie for anyone thinking about their holiday horror watch list already.

Problematic as it may be, Frankenhooker is amazing. I remember seeing the VHS cover as a kid and always wondering what it was like. Wouldn't expect anything less from a Henenlotter film.

Anyone watch Bad Hair yet? Deciding between that and The Amityville Horror for my second flick of the night.

 

Watching Scare Package. Pretty fun so far.

 

I also love New Nightmare. Craven was so smart, self-aware, and fun while still being scary. Always laughed at the shade thrown at the other Elm St films early on in Scream too.

 

Scare Package was decent. Felt a little longer than it needed to, but it has some solid effects and gore.

 

The biggest thing I learned from last night is that prior to its release, Berger was not a fan of Scream at all. He said when he had to read the script to give Wes a report on the makeup budget for the film that he hated Kevin Williamson’s script and felt it was the biggest slap in the face to the genre. He told me he never came around to Scream until after it was finished and he finally watched it at the premiere.

 

been watching Ash vs Evil Dead (finally) to cap off spooky season

this show is dumb, trashy, ridiculous and stupid. I love it so much. took restraint not to watch the first season in a day
