Covid-19 Update for October 30: 622 new cases, 366 recoveries, 5 deaths : alberta

From the Alberta subreddit. They’re (rightfully) freaking out over an increase in cases and they’re still so much lower than us

 

This is my regional update in IL:seen six days of positivity increases and three days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate increased to 8.5%. Currently, 34% of medical/surgical beds are available and 37% of ICU beds.

We're gonna get shut down soon for sure. I hate this shit so much.

It is sheer and utter insanity that we as a country are letting this virus explode like it is right now. We're heading into uncharted territory. Hospitals are going to be inundated and overwhelmed and a lot of needless pain and suffering and death is going to take place. There is going to be a lot of collateral damage where people are not going to be able to receive the type of emergency medical care we've come to expect in this country.

Congrats on being quite literally the last of Illinois' 11 regions to shut down.

I am done going inside any establishment that isn't groceries/medicine. Have enough places where i can pick up beer/food curbside.

The fact that Washington State managed to add a thousand new cases today, and yet per capita that isn't even half of what the US did as a whole is horrifying to me. Like we're clearly doing bad, but by the nations standards we're somehow doing good.
