Honestly seems like everybody at the intercept is just a petty weirdo.

The intercept does some good work, particularly when it comes to America’s ongoing imperialism. That of course doesn’t get covered at all in msm so I appreciate where it is.
Glenn has completely gone off the rails so it’s not surprising to see him jump on the canceled grift.

nah Glenn just tries to lend legitimacy to bad faith right wing attacks on anyone left of center and he can get fucked now. He doesn’t get to duck criticism for it when a whole shittonnof other people have been dunked on for similar shit just because he did one great reporting thing a decade ago.

Speaking of, I know this is unlikely (is there even any chance?) but I hope if Biden is elected he pardons Edward Snowden.

I don’t see any indication of that happening considering the Obama admin is the one that tried very hard to prosecute him

Was Snowden officially convicted of anything or do they have to actually catch him and hold a trial and such? I assume the ladder but not sure how the Patriot Act comes into play if at all here.

He was formally charged, I don’t think he can be convicted until they get him in custody.

I mean it's pretty clear a lot of people just don't like him because he criticized the Russia story. i personally disagree with him pretty frequently but just because he doesn't immediately accept the mainstream liberal party line about every story doesn't mean he's supporting bad faith right wing attacks. As recently as last year his reporting on Operation Car Wash in Brazil was hugely important. He's a strange guy but I don't think he's a crypto-fascist right winger or whatever.

Which will never happen as he was just granted permanent residency in Russia. That's why I think they should just pardon him.

Definitely Putin’s doing out of spite towards the US, which is hilarious in its own way.

Oh I agree he should be pardoned! Because what he did should fall under whistleblower protections anyway. I just don’t think the Biden admin will do it unfortunately.

Yeah no chance that Snowden comes back until the US court system gives him a fair trial; right now they won't even give him a trial, as they won't allow him to defend himself. The two interviews he did with Joe Rogan (the only times I've listened to it), he explained his situation pretty well. Now that he has residency in Russia though, no chance he comes back unless he gets that fair trial, or is pardoned
